La cultura oriental puede una gran desconocida para vosotros, pero en los últimos años especialmente se ha convertido en la gran favorita de muchos, ya que historia milenaria, tradición y tecnología son tres palabras muy dispares entre sí pero que definen muy bien al continente asiático. Como curiosidad os contaremos que la palabra Oriente viene del latín “oriens”, que significa “aparecer” y es la denominación que se le da a la dirección por donde sale el sol. En general la forma de vida es muy rica, en cuanto a valores, educación y comportamiento por parte de su población, y debido a su gran extensión puede variar drásticamente de una punta a otra. Esto se aprecia muy bien en la variedad gastronómica. La cocina oriental existe desde hace más de 3000 años y actualmente ha conseguido instaurarse en todas las partes del mundo. Llena de misterio, muestra un universo de aromas y sabores muy especiales. Es una manera de comer sana y equilibrada y las especias se tornan fundamentales en este arte.
Comenzando por Japón, la primera recomendación que os haremos es visitarlo los meses de abril y mayo, o ya en otoño, en octubre o noviembre. Los meses de verano son muy calurosos y húmedos, así que si vais de junio a agosto no olvidéis el paraguas ni un chubasquero. Los meses de invierno suelen ser fríos, con nevadas en algunos puntos, por lo que es recomendable llevar ropa de abrigo. No obstante, es un país donde puedes disfrutar de las cuatro estaciones. A principios de mes publicamos una entrada en el blog en la hablábamos del Japan Rail Pass, un interrail por todo el país para disfutar del paisaje mientras lo recorremos.
Japón está lleno de templos, castillos y santuarios, y será muy sencillo encontrar estos lugares de culto en cualquier ciudad que decidáis visitar, aunque si nos permitís unas cuantas recomendaciones, Castillo de Osaka, una salida a Nara para conocer el Templo Todaiji con su enorme imagen de Buda y el Parque de los Ciervos Sagrados o el santuario sintoísta de Fushimi Inari en Kioto son algunos de nuestros puntos favoritos.

Oriental culture may be unknown to you, but in recent years it has especially become the favorite of many because millenary history, tradition and technology are three very different words, but they define the Asian continent very well. As a curiosity we will tell you that the word Orient comes from the Latin “oriens”, which means “to appear” and is the denomination given to the direction where the sun rises. In general, the way of life is very rich, in terms of values, education and behavior on the part of its population, and it is because it large extent it can vary drastically from one end to another. This is well appreciated in gastronomy. Oriental cuisine has existed for more than 3000 years and has now managed to establish itself in all parts of the world. Full of mystery, it shows a universe of very special aromas and flavors. It is a healthy and balanced way of eating and spices become fundamental in this art.
Starting with Japan, the first recommendation we will make is to visit it during the months of April and May, or in the fall, October or November. In summer is very hot and humid, so if you go from June to August do not forget the umbrella or a raincoat. The winter months are usually cold, with snowfall at some points, so it is advisable to wear warm clothes. However, it is a country where you can enjoy the four seasons. Tailandia, otro país plagado de templos budistas, es mejor visitarlo entre noviembre y marzo, durante la época seca. La temporada alta para el turismo se da los meses de agosto, noviembre, diciembre, febrero y marzo, y es en los meses de abril, mayo, junio, septiembre y octubre cuando podemos encontrar paquetes de viaje más económicos. El clima de Tailandia es principalmente tropical, por lo que es cálido y húmedo durante todo el año con temperaturas en el rango de 28-35° C. Entre Mayo y Octubre es época de lluvias. Un sitio mágico de Tailandia es el Triángulo de Oro, donde limitan tres países: Tailandia, Myanmar y Laos.
Su capital, Bangkok, es una bulliciosa ciudad que parece no dormir nunca. El principal emblema de la ciudad es el Gran Palacio, uno de los más bellos ejemplos de una antigua corte tailandesa, que incorpora varios palacios y salas utilizadas para diferentes ocasiones. El antiguo Palacio Real de Bangkok es una mezcla fascinante de la arquitectura del Renacimiento italiano y de techo clásico tailandés. Su construcción se inició en 1782 por el rey Rama I y mejorado por los gobernantes posteriores. Dentro destacan el Salón del Trono, la Sala de la Coronación, el Palacio de recepción y el Palacio del Funeral. La siguiente figura más importante es Wat Po, el gigantesco Buda reclinado.En él se encuentra el Buda de Esmeralda, el más venerado de todo Tailandia. Esta imagen única tiene 46 metros de largo, 15 metros de altura y está totalmente cubierto con pan de oro. La planta de los pies están elaboradamente decorados con 108 signos auspiciosos de Buda. Wat Pho es también considerado como el primer centro de educación pública y a veces es llamado “la primera universidad de Tailandia”.

Thailand’s climate is mainly tropical, so it is warm and humid throughout the year with temperatures in the range of 28-35° C. Between May and October it is rainy season. A magical place in Thailand is the Golden Triangle, where three countries are limited: Thailand, Myanmar and Laos.

Inside are the Throne Room, the Coronation Hall, the Reception Palace and the Funeral Palace. The next most important figure is Wat Po, the gigantic reclining Buddha. In it is the Emerald Buddha, the most revered of all Thailand. This unique image is 46 meters long, 15 meters high and is completely covered with gold leaf. The soles of the feet are elaborately decorated with 108 auspicious signs of Buddha. Wat Pho is also considered the first public education center and is sometimes called “the first university in Thailand.”
