Spain for families

If you are travelling with your family, we can assure you that your children will not be bored. Spain is an eminently family-friendly and kid-friendly holiday destination. Spanish society in general is very family-oriented, and there are always plenty of activities and services for children.

Spain has leisure parks to suit all tastes. There is a wide range of amusement parks, theme parks based on ancient civilisations, shows about famous film characters, attractions inspired by dinosaurs, spectacular rides… Some of the most famous are Port Aventura (in Catalonia, on the Costa Brava), Parque Warner Madrid, and Isla Mágica in Seville.

If you prefer going to zoos and aquariums to see how all kinds of animals live, you’ll love places like Loro Parque in Tenerife, Bioparc in Valencia, Barcelona Zoo, Faunia and the Zoo in Madrid…

All of them have places to eat, so your best option is to set aside a whole day to enjoy any of these parks.

If you don’t mind heights, a ride in a cable car gives you a bird’s eye view of major cities like Madrid and Barcelona, or towns on the Costa del Sol such as Benalmádena.

It doesn’t matter what time of year you come to Spain, because there’s always something fun to do. In winter, to enjoy the snow, you can visit ski resorts like Navacerrada, very close to Madrid. Spring is a lovely time to walk, take a boat onto the lake, and watch puppet shows in city parks like the Retiro in Madrid (although it is always lively at the weekends all year round).
