DAY 1. MADRID AIRPORT – MADRID:
Arrival to the airport and departure towards Madrid, the capital of Spain. With a local guide we start with a walk around “Madrid de los Borbones” area where we can see the marvelous Neptune fountain, along “Paseo de la Castellana”, one of the longest and widest avenues of the city. Also around this area we could visit the Parliament and La Bolsa. We continue now with the most popular shopping streets (Gran Via, Plaza de España) and a new area called “Madrid de los Austrias”, the oldest historic center of the city with the famous Plaza Mayor. We can also visit the Plaza de la Villa, where the town hall is. We suggest a visit to Museo del Prado. Check-in at the Hotel and accommodation.
DAY 2. CÓRDOBA – SEVILLE:
Breakfast at the Hotel and departure to Córdoba through La Mancha. Miguel de Cervantes gave international fame to this land and its windmills when he wrote his novel Don Quijote de La Mancha. Córdoba was an important Roman city and an Islamic cultural center in the Middle Ages. With a local guide we will visit La Mezquita (included), an immense mosque dating to 600 C.E. featuring a columned prayer hall and Byzantine mosaics, a walk through the narrow streets at the Jewish Quarter finding here one of the best preserved synagogues of the country. Lunch in reserved restaurant. We continue our journey to Seville where we have some free time to discover the city. Hotel and accommodation.
DAY 3. SEVILLE:
Breakfast at the Hotel and we’ll spend the day visiting Seville’s most popular places. With a local guide we start our sightseeing tour in the old town. This city has several famous landmarks of interest: The Cathedral and The Giralda (entrance included), a bell tower of the Seville Cathedral. It was originally built as a minaret during the Moorish period. We then enjoy a walk through the unique Barrio de Santa Cruz, a labyrinth of narrow streets and alleys dating back to the old judería (jewish quarter).
Lunch by the customer and in the afternoon; we visit Maria Luisa Park, a public park that stretches along the Guadalquivir River in Seville, Spain. It is Seville’s principal green area. You can also visit La plaza de España. Return to the Hotel and accommodation.
DAY 4. GRANADA:
After breakfast at the Hotel we will experience an all day tour in Granada with a local guide. In the morning we will visit La Alhambra de Granada and Generalife Gardens (entrance included). Be transported into the magical world of the Arabian Nights when you visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site; the Alhambra Palace and Gardens. This hilltop royal residence is one of the finest examples of Moorish architecture in the world. Marvel at the carved cedar-wood, cupolas, ornate ceilings, frothy stucco work, and exquisite mosaics.
We can’t miss the visit to The Generalife gardens: Here you will stroll through the spectacular gardens, said to have been inspired by the Koranic description of Paradise. You will see tall columnar cypress trees, roses, orange trees, oleanders and other flowers as well as tranquil pools and tinkling fountains. Lunch by the customer and free afternoon; If you wish you could spend it around La Capilla Real and the Cathedral or discovering this amazing city. Hotel and accommodation in Granada.
DAY 5. VALENCIA – BARCELONA:
After breakfast we make our way to Valencia, Spain’s third largest city. You’ll enjoy a drive along its wide avenues lined with fig and palm trees. Major monuments include Valencia Cathedral, the Torres de Serranos, the Torres de Quart, the Llotja de la Seda (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996), and the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències (City of Arts and Sciences), an entertainment-based cultural and architectural complex designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela. Lunch in reserved restaurant and in the afternoon we leave this beautiful city to head into Barcelona. Hotel and accommodation.
DAY 6. BARCELONA:
Breakfast at the Hotel. With a local guide we will visit this city. Barcelona is called the ‘Great Enchantress’ by poet Maragall, this vibrant, cosmopolitan city is the pride of Catalonia, full of charm and steeped in history. Our sightseeing tour with local guide will include a drive around Montjuic Hill to see the Olympic Stadium and a great panoramic view of the port and city. It continues to the city centre to Plaza Catalunya and Passeig de Gracia to admire the greatness and eccentricity of Gaudi’s architectural masterpieces in the houses ‘Batllo’ and ‘Mila’ and the Sagrada Familia (ticket included). Lunch by the customer and free afternoon to walk in the famous Ramblas, a tree-lined pedestrian mall, it stretches for 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) connecting Plaça de Catalunya in the centre with the Christopher Columbus Monument at Port Vell. Return to the Hotel and accommodation.
DAY 7. ZARAGOZA – MADRID:
Breakfast at the Hotel and start of our trip to Zaragoza, one of the Spain’s major cities. After meeting with our local guide we will find a stunning legacy of monuments in the streets of the city, vestiges of the Roman, Moorish, Jewish and Christian communities who left their mark on the place: Roman ruins such aws the Circus; Aljafería Palace; Mudejar-style churches, with the UNESCO World Heritage designation; Baroque gems like the Pilar Basilica; the work of brilliant artist Francisco de Goya… and also the Expo 2008 site. Lunch by the customer and in the afternoon we make our way back to Madrid. Hotel and accommodation.
DAY 8. MADRID – MADRID AIRPORT:
Breakfast at the Hotel and transfer to the Airport. End of the tour and our services.
